The coordination platform for Bluebeam & Autodesk Construction Cloud (Forma) teams

Every markup tracked.
Every decision traced.

Sync first. Then Weave. TRACE Sync turns every Bluebeam markup into a tracked ACC / Forma issue, and writes status back automatically. That is the groundwork.

TRACE Weave links a review markup to the model fix it caused - and tracks that thread across review cycles, so you know if a closed issue quietly comes back.

  1. 1 · BLUEBEAMA markup is created in Bluebeam Revu - shown in the actual Studio Session.
  2. 2 · REVITThe TRACE engine regenerates it into a native ACC / Forma issue with all its related metadata - inside the Revit modeling environment. The modeler sets In Review or Complete based on actual modeling or resolution.
  3. 3 · WRITTEN BACKTRACE writes that status back into Bluebeam, in its native format - and the issue card carries the sheet, page and exact position.
  4. 4 · TRACE DASHBOARDThe TRACE dashboard captures all of it, in the actual product: the markup, and a reciprocal issue created in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC / Forma).
  5. 5 · WEAVEOnly now can a human draw links across both planes - and ask: did this problem come back?

Coordination reviews break at the handoff

Every markup reviewed in Bluebeam has to be manually re-entered in ACC / Forma. Every resolved issue stays open in Bluebeam. The cycle repeats - manually, every project.

01
Markup in Bluebeam
Reviewer marks up the PDF sheet in a Bluebeam Studio Session during coordination review.
02
Manual re-entry
Someone manually re-types each markup as an ACC / Forma Issue. No location. No reference. No audit trail.
03
Modeler resolves in Revit
The modeler closes the ACC / Forma Issue after resolving in Revit - but Bluebeam still shows it open.
04
Cycle repeats
Next coordination meeting: same broken handoff, same manual effort, same risk of items falling through.
and again, every project
TRACE Sync
The groundwork
Every markup becomes a tracked ACC / Forma Issue that keeps its name through a republish. Status flows both ways, unattended.

Stage one

Sync - the groundwork

TRACE runs in the background. Reviewers markup drawings in Bluebeam exactly as they always have. Modelers resolve issues in Revit® software. Nobody changes their workflow - nobody enters data twice.

STEP 01
01

Markup in Bluebeam - nothing changes

Reviewers mark PDFs in Bluebeam Studio Sessions exactly as they always have. TRACE reads Cloud+, Cloud, Callout, and Pen markups via the Bluebeam v2 API every 15 seconds.

STEP 02
02

TRACE creates a native, located ACC / Forma Issue

Each markup becomes a real ACC / Forma Issue, not a workaround. It is anchored to the correct sheet and page and carries the markup's exact position, computed from the markup's own geometry. Comments carry over as the issue description, with a Revu-rendered thumbnail attached. Autodesk has not yet opened pin placement to integrations, so that position is recorded on the issue rather than drawn on the drawing. TRACE draws it as a sheet pin when Autodesk opens the capability.

STEP 03
03

Resolution syncs back automatically

When the modeler closes the ACC / Forma Issue after resolving in Revit, TRACE writes "Completed" back to the Bluebeam markup. The loop is fully closed - with no manual steps. The issue travels too: it appears in Revit's Issue Manager list on the same sheet view, carrying the Bluebeam screenshot with it - so the modeler sees the reviewer's markup without leaving Revit.

TRACE dashboard: markup 5078014496 on A101 First Floor Plan became ACC / Forma Issue 441, thumbnail attached, status written back and closed

The actual dashboard, live on the Snowdon Towers project: markup 5078014496 on A101 - First Floor Plan became ACC / Forma Issue #441, the thumbnail attached, the status written back, the markup closed. 20 sync ticks, 0 errors. Session ID masked.

Stage two

Weave - what it makes possible

A single design decision spans many issues. Weave threads the review, the model change, and the problems it creates into one coordination item - with human-drawn links. Four things it does:

Two Planes
Linking
Many to Many
Capture Fix
Review and model-clash coordination live · model-health coordination rolling out

The Payoff
Did this problem come back?

Nobody can answer that today, because the markup, the issue, and the model element all carry different names in different tools. TRACE gives every issue a permanent name: the fix captured in Revit records the element's UniqueId - the persistent identifier that survives a republish, and the same value Autodesk exposes as externalId. That one key is what lets a review markup and a model clash be joined at all - and what lets next month's markup in the same spot be recognized as a recurrence, not a new issue.

markupUniqueId = externalIdmodel clash

Built on the tools AEC teams already run

TRACE connects Bluebeam Revu and Autodesk Construction Cloud® - a live, bidirectional integration listed in the Bluebeam Integration Directory.

Autodesk AECO Technology Partner

TRACE works with Autodesk Construction Cloud®, creating native ACC / Forma Issues from Bluebeam markups, each on its sheet, at the markup's exact position, and writing resolution status back when work is completed in Revit® software.

Bluebeam
Bluebeam Integration Directory

TRACE is listed and featured in the Bluebeam Integration Directory - reading Studio Session markups via the Bluebeam API.

Built for production GC workflows

Every design decision traces back to what GC coordination teams actually need on a live project.

Truly Bidirectional

Status flows both ways - BB markup status changes update ACC / Forma; ACC / Forma issue closes update BB. No echo loops, no duplicate issues on undo/redo.

Native ACC / Forma Issues, Located on the Sheet

Creates real Autodesk Construction Cloud Issues, not notes or tags. Each issue is anchored to its sheet and page and carries the exact position of the original markup.

No Workflow Change

Reviewers stay in Bluebeam. Modelers stay in Revit. PMs stay in ACC / Forma. TRACE runs as a silent background service - no new tool to learn. Multi-sheet mapping and the one-click installer are built in: map sheets in a browser wizard, extract and double-click to install.

Exact Sheet Coordinates

Coordinates computed from the markup's geometric centroid - not the label anchor. The recorded position is exactly where the markup is, every time.

Markup Thumbnails Attached

Each ACC / Forma Issue gets a cropped screenshot of the markup area attached, sourced via Revu with automatic fallback to local PDF rendering.

Cloud or Self-Hosted

Run TRACE on our hosted cloud (you manage nothing) or fully self-hosted on your own Windows box - your data never leaves your network. One installer, your call.

Private Beta

Run your next coordination review
with zero manual handoff.

TRACE is in private beta with a small number of teams. It is not for sale yet. Tell me about your team and I will answer personally.

PLATFORM AEC
Design • Data • Intelligence

Platform AEC Inc. is a construction-technology company building software that connects the tools the AEC industry already runs on. TRACE - our bidirectional bridge between Bluebeam and Autodesk Construction Cloud - is the first of more products and services on the way.

Platform AEC's products come directly from 20+ years designing and delivering large, complex BIM projects across multiple geographies. Founder Amro Sallam is a licensed architect (AIA, NCARB) who has built enterprise BIM standards, cloud-delivery platforms, and data-integration workflows from the ground up - so TRACE solves problems lived on real projects, not imagined ones.

Security, in one line: TRACE runs as a Windows service with no stored passwords, OAuth state validated on every callback, and all servers bound to localhost only.
